Edin Dzeko back on Juventus wanted list

Juventus are back in talks with Manchester City over a deal for Edin Dzeko after their move for Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente collapsed.

The Serie A champions are desperate to bring in a big-name striker this summer, as they prepare to make their return to Champions League football, and have set aside a £20 million budget.
But manager Antonio Conte, who is currently fighting a 10-month ban for alleged max fixing offences, has been frustrated after failing to land his top targets.
His number one choice, Robin van Persie, turned down a move to the club three weeks ago, while deals have also broken down for Liverpool's Luis Suarez and Fiorentina forward Stefan Jovetic.
However, Juve had looked likely to land Athletic Bilbao's Fernando Llorente in the last few days, after he turned down a new contract with the Spanish club.
Yet despite agreeing personal terms with the player, Juventus could not settle on a price, and the transfer has now collapsed.
That has forced Conte has turned his attention back to his final choice - Manchester City striker Dzeko, who was subject of a failed £15 million offer earlier this summer.
City are ready to sell Dzeko in the final few days of the window, and the player has already admitted his desire to play in Italy, where he also has interest from Milan duo AC and Inter.
But Juventus maintain they are confident a transfer can be done, and will continue negotiating over the weekend in a bid to agree terms.
Should Dzeko secure his exit in the coming days, City are likely to look at Napoli's Edison Cavani, and Real Madrid's Gonzalo Higuain as possible replacements.
