Swans are Fab! Swansea's brand of sexy football gets thumbs-up from Fabregas
Swansea 3-0 West Ham: Are they Barcelona in disguise? No, but Michael Laudrup's men have got Camp Nou king Cesc drooling
Former Barca hero Michael Laudrup continues to take the Premier League by storm after masterminding a football master-class in the 3-0 defeat of West Ham on Saturday.
And current Nou Camp star Cesc Fabregas was full of praise for the Welsh club’s style of football in what was a comfortable win.
Fabregas tweeted: “I love the way Swansea plays. Respect.”
It was little wonder Spanish Eyes were on the Liberty Stadium where Angel Rangel and Michu extended their lightning start to the season.
The pair had a hand in all three goals after Rangel’s shot was deflected in by Hammers keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen.
Rangel said: “It’s fantastic that a player like Cesc is saying things like that about us. He plays for a team that plays the best football around so that compliment means a lot for Swansea.
“It’s the best start we’ve made to a season for a long time, but we are all realistic and know we have to keep working hard.
“But the team is performing nicely, we’re creating chances and everything is going well so we’re confident we can keep going.” Laudrup has built upon the passing philosophy honed by Brendan Rodgers but has added a new cutting edge.
After five goals at QPR on the opening day, Swansea cracked in another three as striker Michu continued his impressive start to life in England.
Despite West Ham’s attempts to knock the Spaniard off his stride, Michu pounced on James Collins’ lazy back-pass for Swansea’s second on his home debut.
And the €2million signing from Rayo Vallecano already looks one of the bargains of the summer.
Swans striker Danny Graham – who bagged the third – said: “Michu is just magic. You could see the moment he came into the squad that he was quality.
“All players get confidence from scoring and I can see him being a big player for us.
“It was important that we backed up what happened in the first week.
“Last season we were guilty of not creating enough chances but we’ve started this campaign on fire.
“Michael Laudrup gives us a lot of confidence to go forward and express ourselves in the final third. We all work hard off the ball, keep things fluid and mix things up to open up teams.”
